Thank God for is peace that surpasses all understanding. when your child is involved in an accident, you can either react or act. I have choosen to act and stand in the gap for her and to pray. All is well and God  is in control. We love you Akilah.

Pull out the Scarves

I have been sewing all week new ideas in the scarf and shawl addition. Last night, I looked at my granddaughter and made some scarves for my online store www.goodsmiths.com/makersmine. She is so cute, just had to post them. Check them out, she is really special.

Cooking For the Family

I have been on this darn diet for over a year. And although I took a brief few months to drink and be merry, I am back on track. Lost another 7 pounds and am confident that no drinking has helped me move and groove to a different beat. So I am planning this really big feast for my family next week, but no cakes are pies shell I cook. But I'm gonna look good in my Makersnine Apron. Since you gotta cook, you ought to look good. I Live to CREATE

I have been sewing and painting up a storm. My birthday was last week and my lovely daughter and I went to Lake Charles LA and had a wonderful time. So I am back at the machine and I have got scarves, scarves, scarves on my brain. I made some fleece ones and polyester silk with different color lining. Once I take the photos, I will post through www.goodsmiths.com/makersnine and www.etsy.com/makersnine.

For all the little ones out there, I have a playful line of water proof bibs with plastic backing and some flannel ones.

Moving into My Destiny

After rising my four children, being oh so unlucky in love and alone again, I have found the new me. Or should I say the me that has been lost for so many years. I went to the women's workshop last night at church and heard a phrase something like, " There's enough sunshine for everyone." You know what? She was exactly right. Everyone of us can shine in this world in what ever capacity we choose.
